Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager / Senior Buyer to supervise a small procurement team within an aerospace environment. Reporting to and working alongside the Senior Procurement Manager to optimise the organisation’s procurement activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services essential for operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with some supervisory experience and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes and proficiency in various ERP systems to support procurement functions effectively.

Duties

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals, focusing on cost optimisation and quality assurance.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes with support, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier evaluation.
  • Utilise ERP systems to streamline procurement workflows and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure seamless delivery of materials and services.
  • Analyse market trends to identify potential suppliers and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and resolving any contractual issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant regulations governing procurement activities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably within a defence or aerospace environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems is essential.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms for the organisation.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles and logistics operations.
  • Experience in Supervising / man managing a small team
  • Analytical mindset with strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Relevant CIPS qualifications in supply chain management or procurement are advantageous but not mandatory. This position offers an opportunity to play a pivotal role in our organisation’s procurement strategy while working within a dynamic team committed to operational excellence.
