The role involves supporting a Solicitor in the Private Client (Wills & Probate Department) by acting as the primary contact for clients, managing diaries, and handling administrative and office tasks to ensure efficient caseload management.
Responsibilities:
General administration tasks such as opening new client files, sending out client care letters, filing, photocopying and management of the Solicitor’s appointment diary and the booking of meeting rooms.
- Communicating with clients and third parties by telephone, email, and letter.
- Dealing with all types of Private Client work: Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection work, Probate, Trusts and Estate Planning.
- Dealing with enquiries received and researching where necessary to supply responses, liaising with third parties including clients.
- Keeping up to date with training and relevant changes in law.
Requirements:
- Willingness to learn on the job and advance their skill set.
- Experience working in a law firm in a similar role – a legal background is essential.
- Experience in Private Client work is essential.
- Strong IT skills and proficient in Microsoft Office, time management, and attention to detail are essential.
- Organisational skills – ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple tasks.
- Confidentiality – maintaining discretion when handling sensitive client information.
- Professional and approachable.
