Legal Secretary
We are seeking a highly organised and efficient Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative support within our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, proficiency in IT and Microsoft Office applications, and experience in audio typing. Duties
- Prepare and type legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy using audio typing and standard word processing tools.
- Manage and maintain case files, schedules, and calendars to ensure deadlines are met.
- Organise meetings, appointments, and court dates, coordinating with clients and legal professionals as required.
- Draft, proofread, and edit documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
- Support the legal team with IT-related issues or requirements to ensure seamless workflow.
- Maintain organised records of legal documents and correspondence for easy retrieval.
Requirements
- Proven administrative experience, preferably within a legal environment.
- Experience of either Construction, Real Estate or Planning departments
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with an emphasis on professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and IT systems relevant to legal administration.
- Experience with audio typing at a high standard for preparing legal documents swiftly and accurately.
- Good time management skills to handle multiple deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
