Housing Officer – Tempporary Contract
Job Overview
An opportunity for an experienced Housing Officer to join the team for a 3-6 month contract with the possibility to become a permanent opportunity. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing housing services, ensuring that residents receive exceptional support and guidance throughout their housing journey. This position requires strong administrative skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to residents regarding housing options, policies, and procedures.
- Build effective and strong relationships with service users, identifying needs and aspirations and providing personalised, targeted support.
- Ensure by way of investigation, negotiation and enforcement, that customers comply with their conditions of tenancy and lease, particularly with regard to rent arrears, nuisance and anti-social behaviour
- Act as representative in court for all cases brought against customers in your care, ensuring cases are progressed effectively and efficiently
- Where necessary work collaboratively with internal and external partners to enable customers to have successful and sustained tenancies
- Undertake home visits, new tenancy visits, property inspections and viewings, reporting repairs, maintenance and health and safety issues where appropriate
- Work with relevant partners to ensure neighbourhoods are kept clean, tidy and well maintained thereby presenting a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors
Requirements
- You must have experience of delivering outstanding customer focused services in a housing or related field
- Have excellent communication skills both written and oral, and be able to pitch communication at a level appropriate to the audience.
- A full valid driving licence is required for site visits.
37 hours per week with flexible working.
