Salary: £30,000 – £40,000/annum
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line IT Support Engineer. This support role will be responsible for a supporting & maintaining the daily operation of our digital networks and assets (VOIP telephony – 3CX, mobile phones (Knox MDM), copiers, printers, workstations, servers, and software etc.) and provide 1st , 2nd and 3rd Line support to staff using our alerting systems (Netwrix, PRTG, Watchguard, etc). The role will also involve investigating, design, trial, and implementation of new technologies for efficiency, performance and outcomes that benefit both people and the business.
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities – IT Operations
- Provides day-to-day IT support to staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues across White and Companies estate.
- Manages user accounts, permissions, mail and group policies within our Hybrid Microsoft environment ( Active Directory, 365 Entra, 365 Exchange etc.)
- Manage & Support the IT infrastructure including servers (physical & virtual), storage, networking, and cloud services.(Hyper-V, QNAP, NAKIVO, WASABI)
- Performs regular system updates, patch management, and data backups.
- Maintains IT asset inventories and configuration documentation.
- Perform system upgrades, migrations, and deployments of new technologies as and when required.
- Monitor and manage network and system security, including firewalls, antivirus, endpoint protection, and access control systems.
- Conducts regular security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability scans.
- Responds to and investigates security alerts or incidents and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements:
A minimum of 24 months of IT experience with a Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2022 and Microsoft 365 Cloud environments and/or recognised IT certifications.
If you have the relevant experience without certifications then you must be educated to at least A-Level standard and/or have a first degree in a science/engineering discipline.
- Proven experience as a 1st/2nd/3rd Line IT Support Engineer.
- A genuine enthusiasm for a career in IT support roles, including desktop support and help desk functions.
- Good knowledge or interest in computer networking concepts such as LAN, VPNs, firewalls, and operating systems
- A keen interest in troubleshooting software issues across various platforms and applications.
- Familiarity with basic hardware components including computer peripherals and hardware repair basics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a focus on resolving user issues efficiently.
- willing to learn security protocols and best practices in an organisational environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified are advantageous but not essential.
Please note due to travelling between sites you must be able to drive and have access to a car.
