Temporary Forklift Driver

A long term Temporary position for a well established firm potentially offering long term career prospects.

You will be supporting the despatch area in a heavy engineering environment working as part of a friendly team. You will also be trained on various machinery to support the fabrication department.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials across the warehouse
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods
• Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report issues for maintenance
• Handle materials safely, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
• Support warehouse organisation by stacking, sorting, and storing goods in designated areas
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks

Skills

• Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse / shopfloor setting
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control
• Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and safety protocols
• Ability to load and unload goods efficiently using appropriate equipment
• Basic mathematical skills for inventory counts and measurements
• Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks
